The MixPrep beta.
MixPrep puts your multitrack WAVs into Logic Pro in one go: each file on its own track, named, coloured and routed to a bus per group. It's in beta, and every Mac and Logic version helps.

What you need
- A Mac (Apple Silicon or Intel) with macOS 14 or newer.
- Logic Pro set to English. Tested on 12.4; other versions are very welcome.
- Copies of a real session's WAVs, not your only version.
Install
- Open the .dmg and drag MixPrep to Applications.
- Open it. macOS says it can't check the app. That's expected: there's no Apple developer account behind it yet. Click Done.
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. Confirm with your password. On macOS 14 you can also right-click MixPrep and choose Open.
- In MixPrep, follow the setup guide to turn on Accessibility. That's how MixPrep clicks through Logic for you.
Accessibility gives an app broad control over your Mac. MixPrep only uses it to operate Logic during an import.
Test
- Open a new project from your template in Logic.
- Drop your files in MixPrep and press Import to Logic.
- Hands off the mouse and keyboard until it's done. The red Stop button stops it.
- Look in Logic: right buses? Names? Colours? Silence stripped?
- Click Bug Report in MixPrep, also when everything worked. It copies a report with your Mac, macOS and Logic version and the steps, never your file names, and opens the form.
Updates
Choose MixPrep > Check for Updates…, or download the new version from the email and replace the app in Applications. If MixPrep asks for Accessibility again, switch it off and on in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
Your files
MixPrep runs on your Mac and only goes online when you choose Check for Updates. It works on copies and never changes your original files. This is a test version: keep copies of your projects. More in the privacy notice.
